Cyera completes its Oasis Security acquisition
Note dated . Source: Cyera completes Oasis Security acquisition, read
In short: Cyera completed its acquisition of Oasis Security on 3 September 2026, at a reported value of $1 billion. Oasis now operates as Cyera Identity. It has the top audit evidence score in the register, with a prompt-level audit trail and regulator-ready evidence. It shares third place at 7.30 out of 10.
What happened?
Cyera announced on 3 September 2026 that it had completed its acquisition of Oasis Security, a deal valued at $1 billion. The product now operates as Cyera Identity. Cyera is known for data security, so the deal joins data context with agent access.
What does Cyera Identity document?
Oasis introduced Agentic Access Management before the acquisition. Its material describes access evaluated per action and per purpose. Identities are ephemeral and decommissioned when the task ends. Policy is deterministic and includes escalation for write operations. A chain of custody links the human to the agent's actions. The audit trail works at prompt level and produces regulator-ready evidence.
Where does it score well?
Cyera Identity scores ten on audit evidence, the only ten in that area in the register. Lifecycle scores nine, because identities are decommissioned when the task ends. Policy scores eight for deterministic policy per action and purpose.
Decommissioning at task end (GOV-12) is documented. So are per-action policy (GOV-06), short-lived credentials (GOV-05) and the per-action audit log tied to a person (GOV-13).
Where is it weaker?
Inventory scores five. Posture checks are described, but discovery of unregistered agents is not detailed. Approval scores six: escalation for write operations in CRMs is described, but a general approval workflow for high-risk actions was not found. No public price is published.
Who should consider it?
Regulated buyers whose main pressure is evidence will find Cyera Identity's audit material the most detailed in the register. In the regulated industries ranking, which weights audit evidence at 25, it places in the top half. Organisations already using Cyera for data security may also value the link between data classification and agent access.
How does it compare with the leaders?
Cyera Identity shares third place with Astrix Security at 7.30. The two are mirror images. Astrix leads on inventory and trails on approval. Cyera Identity leads on audit evidence and lifecycle and trails on inventory. Buyers choosing between them should start from which gap they can fill elsewhere.
What will we recheck?
At the next monthly review we will look for discovery of unregistered agents and any published pricing under the Cyera brand.
What does the price of the deal suggest?
A reported value of $1 billion shows that buyers of security companies now put a high price on agent access. It does not tell you anything about product fit. Judge the product on its documented controls, not on the size of the deal.
